The unforgettable documentary Bringing It All Back Home recorded an astonishing array of Irish, American and British musicians in a wide assortment of contexts, from small pubs to concert stages to the great houses of Ireland. Tracing the journeys Irish music has taken over the centuries, the producers traveled to Dublin, London, Nashville, New York and beyond, recording and interviewing scores of artists for the five-hour television series.

The remarkable performances recorded for the series have long enjoyed legendary status among Irish and folk-music fans. 37 tracks were released in the early '90's on a British double CD, now long out of print. Nearly a decade later, Valley Entertainment is proud to make all of the original music available again, freshly remastered by producer Donal Lunny, along with several previously unissued performances from the series. The result is a moving and unforgettable journey along the paths Irish music has taken, both in the New World and on its way back home again.

Planxty, The Chieftains and Christy Moore are amongst the artists on a compilation album from the early years of the Lisdoonvarna festival. Donal Lunny has compiled the album which also includes songs from musicians such as Emmylou Harris, Richard and Linda Thompson and Rory Gallagher. Lunny was the in-house soundmixer for three Lisdoonvarnas, as well as playing with Planxty and Moving Hearts. A total of 150 acts performed at the festival which took place each summer from 1978 to 1983.

Let Loose in Letterfrack is the third in a series of fund-raising CDs released in support of the Conamara Environmental Education and Cultural Centre. Like its predecessors, 2000's Behind the Mist and last year's Between the Jigs and the Reels, this new compilation features musicians mainly either born in counties Galway or Clare or based in them and has again been produced by PJ Curtis (an environmental campaigner himself who was instrumental in fighting off attempts to develop The Burren in County Clare). Some of the musicians featured here, such as Seán Tyrrell, Luka Bloom, Máire Breathnach, Josephine Marsh and Jacqueline McCarthy will be well-known to most listeners, but all are in expected good form, especially Bloom on a fun-laden live rendition of his own song, I’m a Bogman, but the overriding delight evoked by these collections consists in the discovery of lesser-known musicians.

gave great feedback to Luka's appearances on the show. His song on this cd is 'City of Chicago'.
Luka wrote this song in 1984 and this was his first time to sing it on radio. I have great respect
